A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Retired forestry worker. I have worked as a tree-planter and foreman for 14 seasons all over British Columbia; I have planted over a million trees during that time. I then worked as a Certified Silviculture Surveyor and GIS Technician, for 25 years before retiring in 2017. In my off-season I graduated with Honours in 2000 at Algonquin College, Ottawa, ON, in the Furniture Technician program under George Rothschild and David Chambers.
I kept furniture making a hobby ever since and created pieces some of which you can see in My Gallery. Hope you enjoy them.
A little about me
I am Mario Desharnais. Forester by trade, I initially worked for 14 seasons as both tree-planter and foreman all over British Columbia for various companies; I actually planted over a million trees during that time! And then went on to work as a Certified Silviculture Surveyor and GIS Technician for 25 years, for Brinkman & Associates Reforestation, before retiring in 2017. I’m looking forward to this new chapter of my career.
From 1998-2000, in my off-season, I graduated with Honours at Algonquin College, Ottawa, ON, in the Furniture Technician program under George Rothschild and David Chambers.
I have pursued furniture making as a hobby for over 20 years now, during which time i’ve had the opportunity to design and handcraft quite a collection of exclusive pieces in different styles, some of which you can see in My Gallery.
I hope you enjoy them!
