WELCOME TO THE SITE OF ÉBÉNISTERIE AKALIKO WOODWORK

Handcrafted Goods

Perfect craft items for your home. Inspired by my classical training but made with modern techniques, each piece is truly unique. Much more than a job, cabinetmaking is a real passion for me. Every day I am grateful for the opportunity to create art, and I take no detours in applying it.

I use premium domestic and exotic wood types to craft my cutting boards.  The adhesive applied in the making of these boards is specifically designed for this task: safe for food contact and resistant to water.
It is essential to ensure a solid bond between the boards to avoid any opening problems in the future.
After a thorough sanding process, the boards are soaked in organic MCT oil made entirely from coconuts.  Once dried, a generous coat of a natural blend of organic beeswax and carnauba wax is spread on and then meticulously polished.
This creates a durable board suitable to last for generations.
However, it's important to note that the boards require proper care to maintain their quality, as detailed in the "Cutting Board Care" section.
All boards come with finger grooves and durable rubber feet that won't leave marks on kitchen counters.

For all furniture, dovetail method, tenon-mortise retained by dowels are preferred, without excluding more common methods of screws, nails and biscuit joinery. .
